In keeping with the theme of celebrating all things New London, the city’s new Community Recreation Center Grand Opening will take place in the morning, and shuttle buses between the Center and Downtown will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. so festivalgoers can tour the facility a short distance away at Fort Trumbull.

The Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m. and the Center will remain open for tours and membership sign-ups until 8 p.m.

Giveaways and prizes, including free memberships, a Fitbit Versa 4 Smartwatch, Beats Solo 4 Bluetooth® Wireless On-Ear Headphones, and a one-hour personal training session for four winners, will be available.

Downtown access to the shuttle will be at the corner of Eugene O’Neill Drive and Golden Street at the restored Trolley Booth. The free shuttles will run every half hour from each location.
